My Week in a Nutshell

Last week our cousins, Sue and Andy, came to town. They were here for a week. Oh, what fun we had. Most of it was just talking, but we did go out and see some of the beautiful fall sights up in the Rocky Mountains.

On the second day that they were here we, as in Mom, Grandma, Grandpa, Addie, Sue and Andy, took a drive east of Salt Lake. We stopped at the Road Island Diner for lunch. It's so bizarre to see forest and houses and farms and then bam! This diner shows up.

We sat down to a nice lunch. I had a cheese burger with their home made potato chips. All of which was delicious. If you ever go there, order the chips. They are amazing!

The we drove up Weber River Road to the entrance to Smith and Morehouse. We stopped for some pictures because it was so gorgeous!

If you look in the background of the picture above you'll see a little cabin behind me. This is the close-up shot. Doesn't it almost look like a painting or something?

More beautiful scenery.

The next day, I think, we went to IKEA. Here's Mom, me and Sue.

Then here's Addie and me. She was a good little girl through all of our travels and shopping. We figure if she's going to grow up and be a good shopper, we have to start young.

They had some cute little kid masks at IKEA so here's Addie trying on the bear one. We ended up buying her the cat one, but let's be honest, she'd look cute in whichever one she wore.

Shortly thereafter it was lunch time for Addie. When we left IKEA we went over to Good Wood for lunch. They have an amazing pulled pork with BBQ sauce sandwich.

licking apples and cinnamon

On Sunday we (I use the term lightly seeing as how Mom made most of it) a turkey dinner. For dessert we made apple crisp. I actually peeled the apples and then licked the spoon. I love apples and cinnamon. Fresh apples don't always agree with me, so I had my own little dish of baked apples.

Family Dinner

Here's everyone sitting down to eat. We had a great meal and wonderful conversation. The next day Sue and Andy left. Thus the end of my week in a nutshell.

Wow, Ali, the close up of the cabin with the woods behind it is fabulous! It would be a beautiful quilted wall hanging. Thanks for sharing your week.
