Mom and I went for a dip in the pool and then met up with Sue on the sun deck and read. Mom laid out in the sun and got a slight burn on her back. Around noon we went back to the room and changed clothes. Then we went to the Aloha Cafe for lunch. I had a slice of pepperoni pizza, a wheat roll, some roast and potatoes, fruit and vanilla ice cream. Mom had a hamburger, salad, French fries, cantaloupe, pineapple and grapes. After lunch we went out on deck to watch the ship depart from the dock in Kauai. It was interesting to watch such a big ship move sideways and frontways to get out to open seas. When we got bored we headed to the game room and played many games of Nertz. It was nice to just relax with nothing to do and no where to go.
Around 5 pm Mom, Sue and I went for a walk around the deck (well, actually three times around, because that makes a mile). After we were done we stopped by the railing and viewed the Napali Coast line of Kauai. It was amazing! Many movies have been filmed there such as Jurassic Park and South Pacific. (Bali Hai is really the Napali Coastline.) It truly was a magnificent sight. Then we went up and packed our suitcases so they could transport them to the docks in the morning. When everyone was together we went down and ate at the Skyline restaurant. I had chilled strawberry soup, lots of rolls, broiled salmon and raspberry sherbet. The sherbet wasn't all I had hoped for and the salmon was not quite cooked all the way. Our service was rather slow, so that didn't help matters either.
After dinner we went back to our rooms where I sat on the balcony and read, and Mom took a little nap. Around 9 pm we went down to the last night Variety show which was quite good. There was a little bit from each of the night shows in this performance. There was the comedian, the magician, the band, the pianists, the singers and the hula dancer. It was a fun program, even though the theater felt like an ice box. We came back up, took showers, finished packing and now we're going to bed. Good night!
We love Wal-mart!
The pool and sun deck. That's me in the bottom picture, having a nice time in the frigid water. If you look carefully you can find me in the top two pictures.
