Self Worth & Self Esteem

On Sunday I gave the Relief Society lesson. I chose to teach about self worth and self esteem, because if there is anything the women from 18 to 30 need, it's a large dose of those two things. I can't really pin point why I have a good self esteem, I just know that I do. I can recall moments in time that have contributed to my self worth, but I can't really just name a day that all of the sudden I felt great about myself. I went online during my research for this lesson and came across a self esteem test on Discovery Health. This test confirmed what I already knew: I have a high self esteem. This is what my results were:
According to this test, you have very high self-esteem. You recognize your inner value and it shows in your personal life, relationships and career/school success. You exude confidence, which is very attractive, and believe enough in yourself to pursue things whole-heartedly. Such a healthy self-esteem allows you to "be yourself", handle stress effectively and maintain an overall sense of well-being. You should value and nurture this quality; it will get you far in life. Way to go!

I think that the lesson went off pretty well. There was a ton of class participation that was on the subject. So much so, that I had to skip over a good portion of my lesson. But that's what a teacher wants, right? In my research for the lesson I gathered up a bunch of self esteem and self worth quotations. Then in my spare time (which was sparse to say the least) I created this quote picture that I gave as a handout to all of the girls. If you click on it you can see it full size. Or you can go to my website to get a copy for yourself.
